In July 2009, Roxboro was chosen by the Ministère des Transports du Québec to demolish and rebuild a highway overpass spanning two busy CN railway tracks in Coteau-du-Lac. Due to the late awarding of the contract, Roxboro’s teams had to be deployed quickly to avoid winter weather.
The biggest challenge encountered during this project was doing the demolition work without interrupting the rail service below. With a 10-hour window at night, our teams did the job over two consecutive nights. Roxboro then took on building the overpass, light backfilling, setting up the granular infrastructure and paving.
Thanks to Roxboro’s efficiency, highway traffic was back to normal after only four months of work.
