In May 2017, Broccolini Construction awarded the contract for the civil works for the Ikea distribution center project along Highway 30. Due to the very tight schedule, Roxboro’s teams needed to be deployed in large numbers in order to meet deadlines.

The presence of blue clay on the site presented a major challenge for the pile installation for the 3 buildings. By making use of its technical expertise, Roxboro elaborated a drainage system beneath the work area to dry out and stabilize the soil thus enabling the piling works to be performed by Préco-MSE. The 5 km sewage infrastructure and 3 km water main works took place during winter 2018. The stone work of parking area was completed in fall 2017. Slab concreting, curbs, sidewalks, paving and exterior finishes were 85% finished in summer 2018. The remaining works are scheduled to be completed in fall 2019.
