In 2007, Roxboro was awarded a contract by Ultramar for the decontamination of land owned by the Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal. This mandate followed a leak of paraxylene from an Ultramar storage reservoir located in the Port of Montreal. This substance contaminated the adjoining lot belonging to the Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal.

As part of the mandate, Roxboro first needed to construct a cement-bentonite confinement wall in order to prevent the paraxylene found in the soil beneath the reservoir from seeping towards the St-Lawrence River and the land owned by the Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal. Land decontamination efforts were hencerforth possible.

The most important challenge for Roxboro in this mandate was the rehabilitation of contaminated soil found beneath a large concrete channel which crossed the parcel of land from one end to the next.
