In March 2015, Roxboro Excavation was awarded the contract for repairs to the Rockland overpass. Works had to be done to extend its functional usage for several more years. This overpass was categorized as the topmost deteriorated bridge.

Measuring close to 250 meters long and 18 meters wide, this bridge passes over the Canadian Pacific railway and connects the Town of Mount Royal and Outremont borough. The artery is one of the sectors main routes which services several thousand cars and pedestrians each day.

There were many challenges throughout the construction phase. One of the most difficult was hoisting the deck all the while maintaining vehicle traffic flow, train and pedestrian traffic. Another critical issue was minimizing the impacts on traffic on one of the Island of Montreal’s busiest arteries. Roxboro’s expertise and team’s efficiency made it possible to complete works prior to the Ville de Montréal’s original deadline.

Statistics:
• 1000 m³ of concerete demolition
• 1250 m³ of poured cast in place concrete
• 1300 m² of sprayed concrete (repairs)
