Highway 20/73 interchange in Lévis, QC
Summer 2012 to Fall 2013
Contract value: $20 M
Client: Ministère des Transports du Québec
This large-scale project consisted of the construction of a new 32-meter long curved box girder bridge above 5 highway ramps in the 20/73 interchange in Lévis.
In addition to the challenge due to lack of space and traffic management, this project also presented major technical hurdles: difficult soil conditions, 2.5 m-diameter piles, complex structural geometry, lightweight fill at the north end approach, etc.
This project was completed within set budget and deadline, all without any claims from the Ministère des Transports (client).
Statistics:
• Concrete: ± 4,000 m³
• Over 70 complete highway closures
• 11-meter retaining walls
• 66 curved steel beams
